Invisalign is a discreet and effective orthodontic solution that uses a series of clear aligners

Unlike traditional orthodontic techniques such as metal braces, Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners that are removable and custom-made to fit your smile exactly. These aligners are designed to move your teeth into the desired position over time.

Also known as: invisible braces, clear aligner, teeth aligners, invisible teeth aligner.

Desired results: Invisalign is a clear orthodontic solution to straighten your teeth. It helps to straighten misaligned teeth. Invisalign is removable and acts as an alternative to braces.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners to straighten your teeth effectively and discreetly. Firstly, we take a 3D scan of your teeth. This helps us to establish exactly where there may be problem areas and helps us to map exact movements. We can also give you an estimated duration of your treatment. This 3D scan will also allow you to preview what your smile will look like once treatment is finished.

The 3D scans are sent off to Invisalign HQ where all your aligners are made.

Once your aligners have been made, you will be given four to six sets of aligners at a time. Each set of aligners must be worn for approximately 1-2 weeks, with each aligner taking the adjustment one step further than the previous aligner.

To ensure you achieve the best results possible, you will need to make sure you wear your aligners for at least 20 to 22 hours each day. Obviously, the aligners can be removed when eating, but make sure you brush your teeth before putting your aligners back on. Because you are provided with a number of sets of aligners at a time, it reduces the amount of time you spend in the dentist’s chair.

How long does Invisalign take to straighten teeth?

The duration of Invisalign treatment will vary depending on a number of different factors. This may include the severity of the case, the age of the patient and the desired result, among many others. Generally, treatment can last from anywhere between 6 months to 3 years. Most commonly, the treatment duration is approximately 12 months.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

Many patients choose Invisalign over other forms of orthodontics due to the unique advantages of the treatment. Some of these include:

Virtually invisible: Because Invisalign is virtually invisible and is completely removable, you can smile for photos without having to worry about your orthodontics being visible.

Removable: Invisalign is completely removable, making it easy to fit into your lifestyle. You can eat and drink what you want, and play sport without having to worry about damaging your orthodontics.

Custom made: Because Invisalign aligners are custom made to fit your teeth, they are developed to feel comfortable within your mouth. You won’t have to worry about brackets and wires cutting into your mouth. Best of all, they are virtually invisible.

Improved oral health: Because Invisalign can be removed, you can keep up your regular oral hygiene routine. This means that brushing and flossing will not be obstructed in any way.

    Am I a suitable candidate?

Invisalign is suitable for both teenagers and adults. If you have a severe case, Invisalign may not be the most effective treatment for you.
